What is an Adventure Group?

Adventure Group is a brand-new product from Tappity for kids who want to meet & learn from our Tinkerers in small, 60-minute live online classes. Each session is capped at 6 kids, which means every child gets a highly personalized learning experience and the opportunity to get to know each other. In each session, Tinkerers lead kids through a narrative-driven class, where they’ll deep dive into a science topic together and participate in group activities along the way. At the end of the class, kids will earn badges, a certificate, and we’ll even mail them a set of stickers!

How are Adventure Group classes different than Tappity Live lessons in the app?

Adventure Groups are live face-to-face online classes, so kids can meet and talk to the Tinkerer over video chat. Moreover, these are small scheduled group sessions capped at 6 kids, which means kids can interact with one another, too!

Is there a minimum age to participate in an Adventure Group?

Our classes are designed for kids between 5-9.

Will my child get to interact with the Tinkerer?

Yes! We’ve designed these intimate group sessions so kids can meet their favorite Tappity Tinkerer and engage in conversation! You’ll just need to enable voice and video on your device.

Do we need special software to participate?

The sessions will take place over Google Meet, a browser-based video conference tool. You’ll need internet access with speeds fast enough for streaming video. During the session, we recommend using your desktop or laptop computer or a tablet! As long as you have a browser (e.g. Chrome, Edge, Safari, Firework), you will not need to download any extra software. After your purchase, you’ll be sent instructions with the link to the conference room and a calendar invite to remind you of your class!

Is video required in order to participate?

While we encourage you to turn on the microphone and video so that classes are more immersive, it is not mandatory!

Do we need any special materials for each class?

We ask that your child comes prepared with drawing implements & paper. Please also refer to the class description and confirmation email, which will list out any special materials.

How do I receive my certificate and stickers?

We’ll reach out to request more information, so we can send these items to you upon completion of the class.

How much is an Adventure Group class?

If I have more than one child, can they all join?

They can join in as long as a spot is booked for each child. We have a strict cap of 6 kids per class to ensure a high degree of personalization and attention. In addition, we ask that each child have their own device during the session.

What is the cancellation policy?

If you let us know 24 hours before the class is scheduled to begin, we’ll refund you 100%. Otherwise, the classes are non-refundable.

The available times don’t fit in my schedule. Are there other times available?

We’re still ironing out the schedules but we’d love to expand our availability. Please email us with dates/times that work best for you, and we’ll try to accommodate!

My kids aren’t interested in the topics offered. Will you offer other topics?

Yes! We’re working on expanding the topics we cover, and we’ll update them on our scheduling tool and notify you over email. If you don’t see anything you like, please feel free to email us with topics your kids might be interested in learning more!
